Social impact strategist, partnerships developmer, and communications professional, Alli Chagi-Starr brings chops and deep conviction to building effective teams and initiatives that provide innovative solutions to fostering community and planetary wellbeing.Currently serving as regional director of C2C Impact Engine, Northeastern University, she develops multi-sectoral research and community partnerships, communications and funding strategies, regional policy equity convenings and seminars, and designed and launched NU Oakland's (Mills College) first summer youth employment program serving underrepresented and underestimated high school students from 15 East Bay high schools.As a strategic advisor for the City of Oakland’s Workforce Development Division, Chagi-Starr worked to expand investments and cross-departmental alignment to improve outcomes for under- and unemployed youth and adults. In her role, she supported the roll out of $14 million to 20 essential service providers. She is currently working toward with the City, nonprofit, and industry partners to expand summer youth employment programs across the East Bay. She received a FUSE Executive Fellowship in 2021 and a Coro Fellowship focused on workforce development in 2023, and serves on the board of Civicorps in Oakland, CA. She has worked in leadership roles at the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, Green For All, The Business Alliance for Local Living Economies, East Bay College Fund, Living the Next Economy, and the Center for Transformative Action. Chagi-Starr has a BA in Cultural Organizing from UC Berkeley/New College of CA and an MBA from Mills College’s Lorry I. Lokey School of Business and Public Policy, where her studies focused on impact innovation, social entrepreneurship, marketing, and organizational design.As a social impact communications professional, cultural organizer, and diversity, equity, and inclusion strategist, Chagi-Starr works with organizations, businesses, and community leaders to develop and amplify the impact of initiatives at the intersection of social, economic, and environmental justice. Her aim is to address the critical issues of our time: socio-economic inequality and climate change. Alli works to develop vibrant and equitable communities through engagement, building capacity, and supporting innovative models for the greatest impact. She is a creative, effective leader skilled at motivating high-performing teams, building powerful partnerships, managing complex programs, and strengthening networks for social and environmental good.
