She is currently working toward with the City, nonprofit, and industry partners to expand summer youth employment programs across the East Bay. She received a FUSE Executive Fellowship in 2021 and a Coro Fellowship focused on workforce development in 2023, and serves on the board of Civicorps in Oakland, CA. She has worked in leadership roles at the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, Green For All, The Business Alliance for Local Living Economies, East Bay College Fund, Living the Next Economy, and the Center for Transformative Action. Chagi-Starr has a BA in Cultural Organizing from UC Berkeley/New College of CA and an MBA from Mills College’s Lorry I. Lokey School of Business and Public Policy, where her studies focused on impact innovation, social entrepreneurship, marketing, and organizational design.As a social impact communications professional, cultural organizer, and diversity, equity, and inclusion strategist, Chagi-Starr works with organizations, businesses, and community leaders to develop and amplify the impact of initiatives at the intersection of social, economic, and environmental justice. Her aim is to address the critical issues of our time: socio-economic inequality and climate change. Alli works to develop vibrant and equitable communities through engagement, building capacity, and supporting innovative models for the greatest impact. She is a creative, effective leader skilled at motivating high-performing teams, building powerful partnerships, managing complex programs, and strengthening networks for social and environmental good.
