Our fire station also has a non-tax funded museum which will help teach future generations the history our city’s fire station and fire safety.In the city of Columbia City you can count on our first response team to provide fire protection, BLS non-transport ambulance service, HAZ-MAT, rescue, fire prevention and code enforcement.The Columbia City Fire Department also serves the city by appearing at area schools for fire safety training, fire prevention and stop, drop and roll procedures

On April 8th of 2014 Signature Giving received their 501(c)(3) status and will begin operating as a non-profit entity in Whitley County. We are pleased to announce that we will continue our fund raising efforts to help the youth and returning adults of our community make a difference in the future of our county and in their lives. Signature Giving would also like to announce that they are now taking applications for the Signature Giving Vocational Scholarship for 2014! Whitley County high school seniors OR returning adults who are seeking a vocational degree or certificate (who have already completed some college or are just beginning) are also encouraged to apply. Applications are available at Columbia City High School, Whitko High School, Churubusco High School, and Signature Giving- located at 126 North Main St. in Columbia City (Inside the LT Real Estate Office) or you can email tina@ltfoundations.com and one will be emailed to you. Applications are due by May 16th, 2014.Some of the criteria the selection committee is requesting are: school career goals, where you see yourself in 5 years, and how your future profession/career will benefit the community of Whitley County.
