Special Education Teacher
Current▪ Lead work immersion program designed to provide high school students develop job skills and gain real-world work experience within an integrated place of employment▪ Provide job coaching and career planning services to high school students with disabilities in the IU13 Masonic Village Work Immersion Program▪ Develop and implement individualized job training plans for each student in the areas of laundry, food services, landscaping, utilities, housekeeping,transportation, farm market, and warehouse supply▪ Cultivate and maintain positive relationship with business partner to ensure program benefits students and workplace departments▪ Coordinate with Masonic Village staff to ensure students are placed in appropriate job roles based on their interests and abilities▪ Monitor student progress and provide ongoing support and feedback▪ Provide individualized instruction focused on social and communication skills within the workplace, and functional reading, functional writing, and functionalmath skills needed for employment▪ Create/implement IEPs for students with a range of disabilities▪ Collaborate with parents, other teachers, and support staff to meet the needs of each student, while helping secure competitive employment pre-graduation
