Editorial Director
Creative: Editorial & Social Media Director
I led a team of exceptional writers, graphic designers, art directors and social media experts at Nordstrom. Responsible for creative editorial strategy, tone of voice and brand consistency across editorial - owned and third-party (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest etc). Responsible for concepting and executing content to support our merchandise, site, marketing and CSR, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging teams. Responsible for storytelling across all business units from women’s fashion business, Nordstrom’s own product group, young customer, contemporary and designer / SPACE brands, beauty, kids and home.
Editor In Chief
I took over leadership of an existing team; responsible for defining a new strategy and development of full-price content across marketing campaigns, editorial, windows, in-store, digital, email and social media. I owned the tone of voice for the business and implemented a content plan that would elevate the brand and attract a new higher-value customer. I used my network to set up partnerships and collaborations with designers and bloggers across fashion, beauty, home and kids which increased followers across our social media by 30% within a month. I re-launched the ‘Debenhams Beauty Club” loyalty scheme and used analysis of data and performance to measure success and pivot content accordingly. We were able to reactivate ~20% of lapsed customers within 4 weeks.
Editor In Chief
Editor at M&S, responsible for the strategy for the copy, video and photographic content for the site's editorial section, Style & Living. The role included everything from planning daily and monthly lifestyle content across the company's business units from womenswear, menswear and kidswear to home, food and lingerie to strategy and tone-of-voice, always with the customer in mind. I oversaw a ten-person team of editors and copywriters in addition to commissioning freelancers and being responsible for the multiple photoshoots on the site - the latter includes working with top photographers, art directors and stylists for both studio and location shoots. In addition to the day-to-day running of the editorial content, I looked after the syndication of this content across affiliate networks and blogs and work closely with the marketing, social media SEO and PR teams at M&S on a day-to-day basis. During my tenure at the company M&S launched its loyalty program Sparks on which I oversaw weekly editorial emails.
Editorial & Content Director At Graziashop.Com
Launch editor of the Grazia magazine brand's Ecommerce site www.graziashop.com. My role included planning and implementing editorial strategy for the project, building and leading a team of editors, designers and in house PR and social media team. Implementation of the tone of voice for the Grazia brand lexicon to be instantly shoppable as well as new franchises unique to Graziashop. You know and love the Grazia edit, now you can shop it too! Among many projects I worked on video strategy - we were among the first brands to launch shoppable video working with Smartzer - and our O&O social media channel Fashion Stories which pulled in blogger and influencer posts that we made shoppable via our platform. The role was a brilliant chance to build a brand from scratch, work with high profile designers and influencers, gain knowledge in retail CMS and the opportunity to work on UX and design from the ground up. Close working relationship with marketing day-to-day on email and social media strategy in addition to the editorial to ensure a holistic look and feel.
