About Ally Bennett, Ph.D.

I recently earned my Ph.D. in Microbiology & Immunology from the Graduate Education in Medical Sciences (GEMS) program at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) College of Medicine. My passion for biology is rooted in a desire to use scientific discovery to benefit the susceptible members of my community, leading me to become an immunologist. My specialties include the fields of viral and aging immunology, as well as the topics of stromal cell biology and lymph node biology. I have expertise in design and execution of new experimental methodologies, data analysis, and interpretation. I thoroughly enjoy brainstorming new experiments and teaching myself new skillsets, such as R analytics, to answer lingering immunological questions. Supervisors and fellow colleagues would describe me as a highly motivated, organized individual who tackles adversity with enthusiasm. Looking for opportunities to network, especially in the fields of immunology, virology, and biotechnology. As my career progresses, I aspire to use my varied skillset to participate in the design of interventions that safeguard the health of vulnerable individuals.
