Equator is a full-service digital agency that operates in a variety of sectors including Hospitality, Finance and Utilities. During my time at Equator, I specialised in the Hospitality sector and had the opportunity to work with brands such as Malmaison, Hotel du Vin, Gleneagles, The Hoxton, Rocco Forte Hotels, Fridays, The Belfry, Cameron House and Frasers Hospitality. As the strategic lead on these accounts, it was my responsibility to nurture and scale these partnerships to drive growth for both our client's businesses and Equator. In addition to working closely with clients in the hospitality industry, I had the pleasure of working with some market-leading eCommerce businesses such as Arco, who specialise in the sale of safety workwear and PPE. Developing a digital marketing strategy that helped them navigate the complexities of 2020 was as rewarding as it was challenging.In summary, my responsibilities included;• Contributing to pitching and new business opportunities• Creating commercial opportunities with my clients to maximise revenue growth• Driving the strategic direction of key accounts and shaping digital solutions for my clients• Managing contractual negotiations • Managing the financial life cycle of projects, campaigns, accounts and departments across the business• Developing creative and technical briefs for every discipline within the business• Developing technical documentation for projects • Collaborating with the wider team to ensure our solutions exceeded expectations• Managing, training and developing my direct team within the Client Services arm of the business

Cabaret Voltaire is one of the most renowned nightclubs in Scotland and is situated in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town. I relocated to Edinburgh for University and I was approached by my former employer for this position.Working at Cabaret Voltaire was an incredibly rewarding experience and within only three months, I was trusted with a huge amount of responsibility. This included interviewing, recruiting and training members of staff alongside managing teams of up to 20 individuals during extremely busy periods. I was also responsible for organising and managing events and functions whilst handling and being responsible for £10,000–35,000 daily. I played a crucial part in expanding the venue’s online presence by developing Instagram and Soundcloud profiles to communicate the venue’s unique selling points.I left this position to focus on my dissertation and finals before moving back to Glasgow.

I created this events enterprise with two like-minded partners to deliver a unique opportunity to see DJs from across the globe in a variety of bars and clubs in Glasgow. We ran 15 events that created more than 20 part-time jobs and generated revenue in excess of £25,000. These events have ranged from small parties to larger events attended by 150 to over 900 people.My role within this project included creating, communicating and maintaining the brand alongside employing staff, managing finances, planning and strategising advertising campaigns for the events and event management.Most of the events took place in 2012, and although an exciting and successful venture, all those involved obtained full time employment and weren't able to dedicate the required amount of time to continue running the events.

Whilst studying at college I approached Forrest Group (in particular Forrest Outdoor Media) for some work experience as owners of multiple premium outdoor advertising locations throughout the UK. I spent one week at their Glasgow office where I was asked to compile a list of potential clients for a new, unique weekend package that was being introduced to their most valuable digital platform in the heart of Glasgow City centre.I built up a large contact list and was trusted to make approaches to the potential clients working from home on an ad-hoc basis over the next 6 months. I was successful in securing multiple new contracts and, in doing so, generated over £5,000 worth of business for Forrest Group.
