I’m Ally – a storyteller, designer, and dancer. I'm currently a Graphics Reporter at Reuters in New York City. Previously, I worked for ProPublica, the Los Angeles Times, North State Journal and The Daily Tar Heel. I became interested in storytelling when I discovered its ability to connect people. The more we know about one another, the more empathetic we become.As a classically trained ballerina and modern dancer, I grew up speaking through movement. I learned that words cannot always tell the whole story. As a journalist, I’ve found that my graphics fill the spaces that words leave behind.In addition to visual storytelling, I enjoy climbing mountains, sharing good conversation with good people over good food and wearing sparkly socks.
