Salix exists to enable and inspire public sector organisations to move towards net zero and create better places to live and work.A non-departmental public body owned wholly by UK government, Salix administers funds on behalf of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and the devolved administrations of Wales and Scotland. The funding delivered by Salix supports decarbonisation projects for public-sector buildings, focusing low-carbon heating technologies and energy efficiency measures.In my capacity as Communications Manager, I play an important role in the promotion and successful implementation of our schemes. I do this through working with stakeholders to share stories that discuss the opportunities and challenges that exist alongside estate decarbonisation, facilitate knowledge sharing and celebrate the delivery and outcomes of some extraordinary works. Where we launch new schemes or waves of schemes, my work ensures that organisations are informed on requirements, and both encouraged and empowered to apply for funding made available to them.Perhaps my favourite part of my role in this capacity is seeing how the everyday work of passionate individuals is delivering a real difference to both our people and our planet.

The Marketing Campaigns Team at King's works to support the delivery of marketing campaigns to support enrolments by high-achieving students across King's portfolio of courses, and to convince offer holders to accept their roles. My role focused on supporting the Faculty of Dentistry, Oral and Craniofacial Sciences to create various mediums of content, deploy and supply content across multiple channels and orgnanise, deliver and evaluate on-campus and online events for prospective students and offer holders.

Guided by relevant legislation, Council is responsible for the management of issues and assets specific to local communities, including water supply, roading, regulatory services such as dog control, solid waste collection and disposal, facilities management for libraries, reserves and more, and also holds responsibility for civil defence emergency management for this area .About my roleWorking within a small communications team for local government, no two days are the same.
