I possess a blend of diverse interests from a passion for equity and inclusion in education to environmental sustainability to the arts. Before becoming the Assistant Director of TRIO SSS at Appalachian State University I briefly worked as a school counselor after graduating from Appalachian State University with my Masters of Professional School Counseling. Over the past handful of years I have also traveled, lived, and worked in numerous places. I have thru hiked the 2,650 mile Pacific Crest Trail, served with AmeriCorps NCCC along the West Coast, facilitating outdoor education in Southern California, and worked four summer Glacier National Park in Montana. I am now excited to be settling down in Boone North Carolina as I continue serving in this role where I am able to learn and lead alongside passionate colleagues as well as talented, compassionate, and resilient college students.
