As the Senior Resource Manager, I am responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing land management activities for 2,800 acres of mitigated land and the other 10,000 acres under the guidance of Corkscrew’s Director of Conservation. Activities include: - removal of invasive and native nuisance plant species - plan and conduct prescribed fires - recruit, train, and retain new volunteers - coordinate and oversee volunteer projects and days with local and regional organizations - recruit, hire, and oversee intern program - assist the research program in the field with vegetation surveys and bird surveys (quarterly point counts)- oversee and coordinate our Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter in collaboration with the Audubon Florida communications team- coordinate writing opportunities for local media (Spotlight magazine)- assist with maintaining a portion of the Corkscrew website - work with maintenance staff on upkeep of vehicles and equipment - aid with fundraising and donor activities including guided walks, buggy tours, and special presentations - currently writing an updated resource management plan for the entire sanctuary
