About Allyson Francis

My passion for mechanical design is rooted in my desire for seamless cooperation between human and machine. I have a proclivity for working with and helping people, but my brain is wired for understanding complex machinery, so I look for opportunities that are inclusive of both my interests. Designing for an elevated user experience is where I really make use of my talents. I am also highly enthusiastic about contributing to community projects. In addition to hardware design, I am passionate about human rights initiatives. I place high value in meaningful advocacy and thought leadership. I have been deeply involved with many different not-for-profit organizations, and do not hesitate to roll up my sleeves when an opportunity to make a difference presents itself. I have also been known to take on lots of side projects at work, including leading process improvement initiatives, chairing culture committees, and organizing team events. My coworkers would describe me as someone with an upbeat, can-do personality who is always trying to orchestrate new ways to make the workplace more enjoyable. In what remains of my spare time, I also thru hike, summit mountains, sing, write, devour articles and nonfiction, curate playlists, and hang out with my Border Collie!
