    Private Math Tutoring Business
    Self-Employed Oct 2018 - Jan 2024
    Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
I founded my private math tutoring business in October 2018. Since then, I have successfully expanded my client base to over 30 students, ranging from grades 3 to 12 as well as university-level math.Key Achievements: Teaching Approach and Impact:With more than 250 hours of one-on-one tutoring sessions, I provide personalized guidance and valuable feedback to my students. I identify their weak areas and adapt my teaching approach to suit their individual needs. Each session may involve collaborative problem-solving, quizzes, teaching new concepts, or preparing for upcoming assessments. As a result, students build confidence, achieve better performance on assessments, and some even become self-sufficient learners.Comprehensive Tracking System: Recognizing the importance of parental involvement, especially for younger students, I actively encourage and appreciate their participation in their child's academic journey. In response to these needs, I devised a comprehensive tracking system to monitor and evaluate student progress. Through this system, I am able to assess mastery of specific concepts, identify areas requiring further attention, and actively involve my students by soliciting their input on areas of ease and those requiring additional practice. Goal-Setting and Student-Parent Collaboration:I find that by directly involving students in the process of tracking their learning, they are often pleased at how much they have learned and as a result gain confidence in themselves and their abilities. Moreover, this framework facilitates collaboration on goal-setting and progress tracking between students and parents/guardians, beyond relying solely on assessment scores.

    Sap Ixp Product Management Intern
    Sap Jan 2023 - Aug 2023
    Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
As a returning Product Management intern on the SAP HANA team, I focused on the administration of SAP HANA Cloud, data lake.Key Achievements:Multi-tenant PoC:To meet LOB demand for multi-tenancy support, I established and demonstrated the implementation of multi-tenancy for SAP HANA Cloud, data lake instances. I scripted container creation, schema and object creation, and table loading for each tenant via SQL, and scripted permission granting and copy of staging data to SAP HANA, data lake Files storage (HDLFS) via Python. HDLFS Python copy Tutorial:I wrote a Python script that leverages the SAP HANA Cloud, data lake Files REST API to efficiently copy entire directories 10MB at a time from a source HDLFS to a target HDLFS. I wrote and published a tutorial (see below) to demonstrate this script.CAP PoC:I established and demonstrated how to build an SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP) application in SAP Business Application Studio that queries data from an existing data lake, Relational Engine table. CAP is the standard framework used by our LOBs to create business applications that connect to SAP HANA Cloud instances. This tutorial (see below) is the first instance of published instructions to integrate an existing SAP HANA Cloud, data lake Relational Engine instance with CAP. Further, I was able to present my findings internally as a presenter at SAP HANA Cloud Innovation Day 2023.Committees:Event Coordinator, SAP iXp Canadian Intern CommitteeSAP Waterloo Eco Team member

    Sap Ixp Product Management Intern
    Sap May 2022 - Aug 2022
    Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
I continued my work on the SAP HANA team as a Product Management intern, focusing on the administration of SAP HANA Cloud Database Explorer (DBX). For the majority of this co-op term, I was primarily focused on the Data Analysis project using SAP Web Analytics (SWA) to gain valuable insights on the usage of HANA Cloud Central. Key Achievements:Data Analysis - SAP Web Analytics for HANA Cloud Central Project: I collected, analyzed, and presented SAP HANA Database Explorer (DBX) usage data to lead engineers for SAP Web Analytics (SWA) for HANA Cloud Central (HCC) project, spanning three months and over 270,000 unique visits. I identified opportunities for automation and developed Python scripts to optimize the creation of SWA reports and summarization of data in Excel. I gathered data to understand how users were interacting with DBX and managing their data, to track the usage of new and requested features, and to identify underused features. To facilitate strategic and agile decisions by engineers, I tracked and monitored feature usage such as and visitor metrics, and created valuable reports and insights based on analyzing usage data. Additional Responsibilities: - Prepared and presented DBX new features demo for Americas’ SAP Users’ Group (ASUG) and collected valuable customer feedback. - Created and maintained WIKI articles to ensure effective knowledge transfer.- Created and edited product tutorials to emphasize to both internal and external users the range and value of SAP HANA Cloud product features.- Managed the administration of DBX through crafting product road map for current and future releases, administered JIRA tickets and reviewing product design documents, participation in sprint reviews, and managing and reporting on customerfeature requests.

    Sap Ixp Product Management Intern
    Sap May 2021 - Aug 2021
    Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
In my role as a Product Management intern, I worked on the SAP HANA team, focusing on the administration of SAP HANA Cloud Database Explorer (DBX). In this position I accelerated my growth as a problem solver through exposure to many tools and technologies, resulting in the development of a broad skillset as well as the ability to quickly adapt to and apply new knowledge.Key Achievements: Feature Spotlight Tutorials: I created and edited product tutorials to emphasize to both internal and external users the range and value of SAP HANA Cloud product features. Specifically, I demonstrated new or improved functionality added to DBX through use cases using Linux shell-scripting, Python, WSL2 and OpenSUSE. I edited existing tutorials including seven tutorials in the ‘Use Clients to Query a Data Lake Relational Engine' tutorial group to add functionality for Linux and MacOS users, and provided feedback which resulted in updates to the SAP HANA Node.js driver. This tutorial group maintained a 100% completion rate.Product Roadmapping and Rollout:I managed the administration of DBX through crafting product road map for current and future releases, administered JIRA tickets and reviewing product design documents, participation in sprint reviews, and managing and reporting on customer feature requests. I also prepared and presented DBX new features demo for the SP13 Rollout sessions.SAP Sustainability Goals Presentation: I researched and presented on SAP's sustainability goals and how they align with the UN's '17 Goals'.

As a returning Instructional Support Assistant (ISA), I took on more responsibilities while providing support for 350 students enrolled in Introduction to Computer Science 1 (CS 115). This course focuses on foundational concepts in computer science, where Python is the primary programming language used. Moreover, students learn skills that are applicable to new languages and environments, not just those used in the course. Key Achievements: Virtual Classroom Management: In addition to establishing and upholding a conducive virtual classroom environment utilizing Microsoft Teams and D2L, I conducted weekly office hours and acted as a liaison between the course professors and students. Grading Consistency and Team Management: I assumed the responsibility of conducting regular meetings with graduate students to reinforce grading standards and ensure the delivery of high-quality feedback. To facilitate the grading process, I meticulously devised comprehensive marking schemes with a balance between simplicity and specificity, guaranteeing consistent feedback for students regardless of the assigned grader.Grading Efficiency: I also edited existing Python scripts to automatically collect and grade student assignments to reduce the need for hand-marking. Moreover, I created a Python script to improve efficiency and avoid computational errors when assigning markers to assignments. This script saves ISAs roughly 20 minutes every week; over 5 hours per term. Student Feedback and Recommendations: I developed student feedback surveys to understand how to better deliver the course in a virtual environment. From the feedback data, I created detailed reports and made recommendations to the course staff to increase student satisfaction and understanding.Comprehensive Manuals: I created two comprehensive virtual manuals using HTML5 and CSS to guide future CS 115 ISAs with every aspect of the online and in-person course offerings, respectively.
