About Alma Midžić
I graduated from the Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo, received a master's degree from the regional MA program "Democracy and Human Rights in Southeast Europe", with the highest grade, on the topic of social movements and common goods, and currently, I am completing an interdisciplinary academic master's degree "Protection from Natural Disasters" on which I am finalizing the thesis "Water Supply in Transition". I have many years of experience working in local and international organizations in various positions - manager, coordinator, analyst, or providing expert support. I have published articles, essays, and commentaries in collections, magazines, and digital editions covering topics of common and public goods, social control of resources, and participation. I have designed policies in the field of environment, sustainable development, communication, and participation. As an engaged researcher I worked on several tasks related to resource management, rural development, corruption, and participatory mechanisms with a focus on civic initiatives and local communities, the position of women in BiH, and generally on issues related to the state of the environment in BiH. To produce an analysis that elaborates the eco-tourist potentials of local communities based on the arguments on river conservation offering development alternatives for the Neretva and Kruščica valley localities.
