About Alan Maxwell

I have an extensive back history in the Australian film industry with a tremendous amount of experience in numerous disciplines both technical and craft. My first films were stop-motion in the vein of Ray Harryhausen, These days I have stopped latex, copper wire and plasticine for the digital equivalents.As a Film Director I worked for 14 years directing television commercials both here in Australia and internationally in the United Kingdom. Over the years I have worked closely with Marketing Departments, Creative’s and Account directors.     I am currently working with the Marketing Dept in creating content for AIETV. I shoot on a Red Dragon 6K camera and edit corporate films in FCPX. Sound and music is created and mixed in Logic Pro X.Up until last year I was teaching first and second year students Maya 3D computer animation. My second year group is a Screen specialization class which allows me to bring a lot of my prior film-making experience to bear. The 3D course here is very hands on and practical which is terrific for student outcomes. I now have huge number of former student Graduates employed in industry jobs at Weta Digital, Animal Logic and Luma Pictures (Melbourne), ILM and Image Engine (Vancouver) Cutting Edge, FIN Design and many many more.
