Senior Abap ConsultantKbr, Inc. Nov 2003 - Jun 2004Houston, TexasKBR asked me to come back to help with the full installation of SAP 4.7 and most importantly to make sure the integrity of a critical application would not be compromised during conversion. This is the month-end process described in the last item of the next section. Worked closely with KBR partner BearingPoint. -
Senior Abap ConsultantHalliburton & Accenture Jan 1998 - Dec 2002Houston, Texas• Full cycle implementation & support of SAP. This international rollout of SAP was one of the largest ever for an American corporation. Modules: FI CO, SD, MM, PS,HR/PR. SQL & DB design. BDC, BAPI, BADI, LSMW, ALV Grids, user exits, SAP fixes, ABAP Dictionary, ABAP Workbench, excellent problem solving & performance enhancement skills, HR Infotypes. Technical lead. Wrote technical specificatins from function apecifications.• Was senior go-to problem solver when other technical personnel were stuck.• Designed & implemented a versatile MM load application using SAP’s Direct Input.• Designed & developed a custom HR incentive compensation management application for the awarding of bonuses to upper management.• Discovered a major performance issue in SAP’s internal code that threatened the filing of an important SEC report by Halliburton due the next morning. Under pressure I debugged the SAP internal code and designed a temporary fix that enabled Halliburton to file that report on time. It took SAP several months to verify my recommended solution to their code but they eventually agreed and implemented it exactly as I had advised. During that interim Halliburton used my temporary fix to file these periodic reports to the SEC.• Taught a class in Sapscript to Accenture and Halliburton personnel.• Led a small team that solved a major and worsening performance problem with the KBR month-end close process needed to balance their books between SAP & legacy systems. This was delaying the close each month and was on the verge of delaying the timely filing of monthly SEC reports that would have resulted in severe penalties levied against Halliburton. Part of the problem was frequent crashes of the application. My team reduced the time required to run month-end close from almost 3 days to under 15 minutes and eliminated the crashes completely solving their problem.

Abap ConsultantTexaco / Aramco Star Enterprise Jun 1996 - May 1997Houston, Texas• Installation of SAP R3 at Star. This project won industry kudos for its timely and smooth transition to SAP.• Analyses of program performance dependencies using online debug, internal and external Run Time Analyzer, SQL Trace, and program modeling to correct production performance problems as well as for the specification of optimal program design.• Redesigned an invoice-generating user exit to incorporate IS Oil enhancements, added customizations for specific client and industry requirements, and transformed the Sapscript output to be able to feed a legacy document archival system.• Enhanced SAP printer configuration modules for HP printers to enable printing to allow printing to legal size paper. Required coding in HP’s PCL printer driver language.• Created a utility program to aid the incorporation of color into ABAP reports.• Used Online Support System (OSS) for reporting of SAP bugs and application of fixes. • Installed Pitney Bowes SmartMailer zip code and address verification package and designed and coded an outbound and inbound bridge to interface with it.
