• Designed and drafted project cost estimates for a $7.5 million plant expansion project involving major rework of existing structures to accommodate additional equipment; design and sizing of conveying, dust collection and other key equipment (expellers, flaking rolls, decanters, etc).• Designed, directed and managed capital projects ranging from $15,000 to $2.8 million and ranging in nature from health & safety/environmental compliance to plant and process improvement. • Managed construction projects within established health & safety and environmental policies, procedures, and plant priorities to efficiently meet production, quality and safety goals of the facility.• Supervised groups of contractors in execution of maintenance and capital projects and plant shutdown work.• Obtained equipment and labor quotes from various vendors and negotiated pricing.• Generated purchase orders for material, equipment and labor for capital projects and tracked spending in spreadsheets ensuring the projects are completed within budget. • Responsible for all plant environmental program maintenance and reporting. Ensured compliance with all environmental regulations by applying for new and modified permits, updating environmental programs and generating reports such as NPRI and GHG emissions; subject waste management including hazardous waste classification, registration through HWIN, TDGR, waste storage, disposal and manifesting, e-Wastes recycling; spill and/or release notifications; environmental compliance audits; waste audits and waste reduction work plans; DSL; plant air emissions application; storm water runoff; development and implementation of new environmental policies.• Assisted in plant operations including troubleshooting and solving daily production, quality and process operations problems; assisted in supervision of maintenance and contractor employees during plant shutdowns; ensured employee adherence to health and safety rules; controlled plant costs.
