Application support analyst with Bravura solutions on one of their client sites, Citigroup formerly Scottish Friendly. The Talisman front end is written in Powerbuilder and eTalis is written in JAVA. Both of these applications persist data back to a Sybase database.I was the first port of call for any issues the client experienced with these applications and my objective was to communicate the details back to Bravura developers and Business analysts in a more effective manner to allow them to work towards a resolution. Issues were reported in Citipgroup using a JIRA system which I had access to. I then liaised with the affected users to gain greater detail such as impact analysis and criticality as well as gathering any input and output to the process, steps the user had followed to create the error and any error messages displayed. In-house straight through processing STP systems, which interfaced with Bravura were used daily by Brokers. We had access to a production read only copy of the Bravura on-line SQL server database which was refreshed daily at the end of the business day, EOD. This was used for the datafeeds into the SOR occurring daily at EOD which were controlled by the autosys scheduling tool. There were many other systems which used the data in the SOR for use each day, including settling systems for outstanding payments on deals processed via the STP systems, systems for paying fees to agents/Brokers involved in STP and manual dealing and retrocession payment systems.Prior to involvement in TA application support I supported Congos 8 and Reportnet framework models and reports which were used by the internal Sales and Marketing team and other internal and external business partners.
