In many places, our marginalized children are not receiving a proper education. They are miseducated. They are undereducated. Our school systems are locked into a mindset that does not hold learners of color, or of low wealth, or of diversity, as deserving of the highest quality of education. The work of diversity, equity, inclusion, and antiracism in education has never been as vital as it is now.As CEO and principal consultant, I work directly with leaders of school systems, teachers' colleges, educational publishers, and other educational organizations to transform their culture. I provide workshops on diversity, equity, inclusion, and antiracism in the context of K-12 education. I focus on equity and inclusion in teaching, learning, curriculum, and instruction – decentering whiteness and honoring diversity in the classroom.I partner with educational publishing companies, providing equity reviews of instructional materials. My lens ensures that instructional materials properly represent a diversity of representation and thought that mirrors the demographic of our society. I look for equity – for approaches and outcomes that appropriately serve the marginalized learner, free of deficit-based methods and mindsets. And I look to ensure that inclusion is inclusive. I provide keynotes and workshops at conferences and events on diversity, equity, inclusion, and antiracism in K-12 schools. In addition, I prepare white papers and professional learning videos on diversity, equity, inclusion, and antiracism. On all things, I place a particular emphasis on English language arts, reading, and multilingual instruction – both developmental equity and intervention equity.

As the Director of Urban Relationships, I leveraged my credentialed expertise in English language arts and multilingual developmental and intervention reading with my knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion. I worked with school systems across the United States and the Caribbean, focusing primarily on the large urban districts that serve a culturally and linguistically diverse group of learners, and historically struggle with equity of outcomes.

As the manager of a diverse team of achievement specialists, we covered the 14 adoption states across the southern half of the United States. My team’s territory covered a tremendous diversity of cultures. Due to the historical challenges of equity in under-resourced schools in our territory, we focused on marginalized populations of learners most in need of instruction that would provide equity in outcomes.
