Leadership of the Data Exploration efforts at Facebook. This R&D strategic initiative helps advance the state-of-the-art on query optimization and execution for Big Data. It also develops novel techniques of data sampling at massive scales.

Leadership of Presto, an Open Source, highly parallel and distributed SQL query engine designed for low latency analytics. At Facebook, where Presto was created, it is used for critical business operations on over 300PB of data. Presto is also leveraged by some other major tech organizations, including Twitter, Uber, Alibaba, Netflix, Amazon, LinkedIn, etc. — As part of this effort, I planned and led the creation of a foundation for Presto under the Linux Foundation's umbrella with Uber, Twitter, Alibaba and Facebook as founding members.

With 250,000 servers in over 130 countries, Akamai delivers +3 trillion Internet interactions/day and an average of 96 Exabytes/month.Reporting to CTO. At Akamai Labs (R&D division of Akamai), I lead the global engineering group responsible for the company's Distributed Platform, which includes large-scale infrastructure orchestration, Cloud Computing, and container technologies. I am also responsible for the strategy for the Open Source technologies that we use and contribute to.

Red Hat is the leader in enterprise Linux and is the most recognized Open Source brand in the world. At Red Hat, as manager of managers, I ran a number of Engineering teams across different regions (NA, EMEA and APAC), whose charter was to develop and maintain specific OpenStack core components and related technology such as NFV. The RDO community, its release management and the integration of its distribution of OpenStack fell also within the responsibilities of my group, as well as the OpsTools CentOS SIG, which integrated all the necessary Infrastructure Engineering tooling into Red Hat OpenStack.On the side, I spearheaded and bootstrapped Red Hat's first OpenStack Operations team. This SRE team plans, deploys, and maintains a number of internal OpenStack clouds as well as a public-facing OpenStack cloud that currently serves some major Open Source communities.

Major content providers such as Warner Bros. and Paramount Pictures base several of their digital distribution channels on mgMEDIA's technology.As CTO, I was responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the company, the management of 50 technical personnel in Madrid and San Francisco, and the operation of the company’s distribution systems including Samsung Movies, LG's SmartTV platform, and Swisscom's video distribution platform.
