My name is Alonso Chavez,I'm currently a Merchandise Analyst (Location Planning) Intern at The Walt Disney Company, I support the Area Location Strategy team in defining both short-term and long-term strategic directions for merchandise shops. My role involves leveraging guest data, product strategies, operational feedback, and financial data to shape these strategies.In my current position, I analyze business reports and adjust tactics to address emerging trends. I review weekly and monthly reports to build and communicate action plans that drive performance. Additionally, I develop retail location strategies that align with the retail master plan, including rehabs, store closings/openings, and new concepts.I provide strategic feedback to the Merchandise Strategy & Merchandise Planning teams during quarterly breakthrough meetings. My responsibilities also include developing floor plans and product flow calendars in partnership with Merchandise Presentation and acting as the communication link to Operations teams for the execution of assortment strategies.I review upcoming product strategies quarterly and select items for each merchandise shop. I also promote property strategies for seasonal mix changes and events in collaboration with Product Strategy and Visual Presentation teams. My focus is on the big picture, creating visions for new opportunities, and building cases to support these initiatives. I regularly present my findings and strategies to cross-functional team members.
