Help with laboratory tasks on a work-study basis. This includes: hatching mosquito eggs, feeding larvae, pupae, and adult mosqutioes, splitting pupae from larvae as well as occasionally splitting males from females (in pupae form), and general cleaning.

As a Water Fellow, I am working a project looking at 3 watersheds in Northwest Arkansas and using NHD, NLCD, and USGS data to see how land use has changed since 2001 through 2021 in ArcGIS Pro. I occasionally help with lab work, including helping collect water samples, acid washing, and other small tasks.

Along with a group students, I helped collect various data such as herbaceous and canopy cover, DBH, tree identification, as well as soil moisture, pH, and characterization in the Singapore Botanic Gardens (SBG) to monitor wetland restoration. When Dr. Coffman was not able to accompany us in the field, I was in charge if coordinating the other students to meet and collect data. I was also in charge of routine maintenance of eight wildlife camera traps around SBG, which included cleaning lenses, changing out batteries and SD cards, and adjusting any cameras that needed to be adjusted to ensure they were capturing their respective sites well. Lastly, I was tasked with data organization and analysis; I transferred all of the SD card data onto my laptop then onto a hard drive in well-organized folders. With the wetland data we collected, I added it to existing Excel worksheets containing data from the past two years (this was year three of a ten-year LTRE), and performed analysis such as Tukey's Test and ANOVA. With the analysis done, I submitted a 15-page executive summary as well as a powerpoint presentation that was then presented to Singapore's National Parks Board (NParks) on my behalf by Dr. Coffman and a student from NUS.
