After earning my BSW, I am looking forward to the opportunity to make a difference in people's lives. Prior to transferring to UMBC, I earned my Associate's in conflict resolution at Howard Community College. In that program, I was introduced to restorative justice, and I became passionate about helping people work toward the best outcomes for their situation. I completed 40 hours of mediation training, and also trained in the facilitaion of restorative dialogue and restorative reflection. These interests blended very well with my education in social work. I became passionate about criminal justice reform and reentry for people who are incarcerated. I completed my field study at the Office of the Public Defender for Howard County, where I visited clients in facilities, wrote mitigation reports, and located services in the community. Advocacy and justice are the two things I hope to champion wherever I go in life, whether on or off the job.
