The Director of Training & Impact coordinates and leads the strategy, design, and implementation of Teach For India’s Fellowship Program. As the head of Training, the role is responsible for ensuring that the organization’s 1100 Fellows gain the knowledge, skills, and mindsets needed to be transformational teachers and leaders committed to attaining educational equity. Underlying that charge, the role leads a team in coordinating the implementation of all Fellow onboarding (Institute), while simultaneously designing the standards, strategy, and learning loops needed to facilitate change across seven regions of programmatic activity. Furthermore, through a similar cycle of onboarding to design, the Director of Training leads and coordinates the development of programmatic staff.

Designing Fellow Curriculum for all TFI Fellows- Curriculum for Fellows to build their knowledge, skills and mindsets to be effective teachers and leaders. 2. Designing Year1 Curriculum- An integrated curriculum for teachers in 1st year intervention classrooms. 3. Supporting Literacy Specialists and program staff in different TFI cities. Previous projects completed:1. Designed assessment blueprints for secondary classrooms. 2. Designed the Speaking and Listening Framework for TFI Literacy Curriculum.3. Fellow and one of 4 Fellow Advisors in the city. Taught 27 3rd graders in a low-income government school in Chennai. Students made an average of 1.5 levels of growth in that one year and could speak and read fluently in English after one year of intervention. As a Fellow Advisor- - Designed and conducted training sessions for Fellows.- Reviewed Fellows' plans for their classroom.- Supported Program Staff

2011 Fellow at Teach For IndiaTaught 64 5th graders in Govandi, one of Mumbai's largest low-income community. 90% of my students met their annual goals of making 1.5 levels of growth in reading.

Managing the web portal: www.bookchums.com.BookChums- India's first book networking site dedicated to connect book lovers. A platform to participate in book clubs, blogs, discussion rooms, book reviews and much more. Primary responsibility was content management, though with time, project management and social media management also came into the picture. - Managed content generation for the site: Conducting interviews with authors, writing book reviews, planning and scheduling for posts, dealing with freelancers.- Worked on ideas for features, UI, frameworks for the site : Suggest what features can be added to site, prepare documentation with details of features and functionality and wire frames for same. - Coordinated development planning and implementation with the Developer team : Prioritizing tasks based on site's growth and audience needs, schedule implementation and monitor progress.- Managed social media accounts for the site: Admin for the site's Facebook fan page and Twitter account.
