Senior Product Development Engineer
CurrentTruck Cab - Interior- Providing centre of expertise with global responsibility among the countries (Germany, Turkey, Brazil and China) for interior trim panels; headliner, sidewall and rear wall textile surfaces, Glass PP stowage boxes and Thermoplastic add-on parts and frames.- Designing, developing, testing and integration of complex cab interior trims and plastic components including parts and modules into industry leading heavy-duty trucks.- Providing test reports; DVPs and development trends.- Responsible for prototype and serial product parts: design, analysis, test, verification, release, improve, cost & weight, purchasing processes, supplier main contact, assembly & quality problems, quality improvement, after-sales.- Leading the product design of: • Headliner for Actros-Brazil • Housing of Alarmbox for eActros • Trim panels for Thermal & Acoustic improvement Project for new Actros- Deputy R&D representative at core team meetings at Brazilian projects- Preparation of «Serial Supplier Awarding Checklist» for trim panels as a main point of contact - Responsible for establishing supply chain for sourcing suitable materials and robust production methods considering without compromising budget, quality standards, safety, project key milestones and local legal regulations- Developing overall system design to deliver critical functional attributes including Operating Efforts, Squeak & Rattle and Thermal & Acoustic Insulations.- Concept development to meet cost, function, quality and weight targets with benchmarking- Working with Quality Department; tracking quality issues and customer complaints.- Leading suppliers for system integration according to company design guidelines- Participating in monthly Global Functional Team meetings- Supporting prototype vehicles in Germany, Brazil and Turkey- CCC/CQC Certification – team coordination- Monitoring the team's budget and payment orders- Preparation of «Call for Planning» documents
