- EuroV emission calibration of a diesel four cylinder inline engine.- Optimisation of injection strategies (timing, amount, pressure) and fuel maps.- Modification of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system strategies.- Evaluation of test results and coordination with AVL UK.

- Modification of AVL VOICE database with new vehicles and ‘Fingerprint Benchmarking’ tests.- Investigation of emission-internal/external noise trade-off for EuroVI emissions calibration.- Measurements of structure borne noise and vibration transfer paths (TPA with handshaker method).- Transmission noise and vibration measurements for a benchmark project.

Thesis Title: Misfire Detection Using Spectral Analysis- Preparation of algorithms for misfire detection using Matlab.- Analysis of the engine speed signal acquired from the engine control unit (ECU) through Fast Fourier Transform (FFT).- Evaluation of the developed detection method according to statistical analysis (DMSS).

- Development of OBD, lambda control and emissions systems within the engine control unit (ECU).- Flashing and updating of upgraded functions to test vehicles.- Preparation of metrology and preconditioning of the vehicles to be tested.- Evaluation and reporting of dynamometer and circuit measurement results.
