Principals, Teachers and School Staff in our cities do so much for our children and we want to celebrate them and thank them as a community. Principals and Vice Principals promote the Gala to their staff and also see this FREE EVENT for the teachers and school staff as a team building and fun experience for the educators and school staff. This event is of no cost to the schools whatsoever. On this night they just dress up and come on out and enjoy the Gala because they already give so much for us. HCMC started the Teachers Appreciation Gala out of great interest and request from businesses and individuals who wanted to give back to education and teachers in the city where they live and do business. Businesses have seen this event as a great opportunity to bring exposure to their altruistic goals and show their ability to impact the community. We invite teachers from the cities to thank them for providing a safe place where our children can learn, grow and become good scholars and citizens. This event celebrates the teachers, helps boost their moral in times where there is so much violence happening in schools, encourages the arts in the lives of young people, brings businesses together and proceeds go to support HCMC youth programs within the city we live and do business. Businesses have chosen to partner with HCMC annually to give the teachers and school staff an elegant night for the work they do for our kids in our city.

Our semi-annual Little Black Dress Gala hosts 2000 guests in Vancouver, Canada. It gives the local community an opportunity to get involved with HCMC. The gala is an elegant intersection of philanthropy, the arts, education, fashion, and support for the underprivileged youth that have the potential to shape our beautiful city. Youth and women are the primary focus of the Little Black Dress Gala, with proceeds going to support HCMC. Many forward thinking, philanthropic companies have taken advantage of our generous corporate sponsorship offer for this event.

I established HCMC Foundation in 2012 to help support and advance charities focused on providing growth and development opportunities to youth. Wherever possible, the Foundation aims its support towards small charities. Kampala, Uganda

Shammah High School is a non-profit secondary education institution for youth who have gone through Alpha and Omega Junior School and schools in surrounding areas. Most of the kids attending this school would not have another opportunity for secondary education. In many cases, the students are orphans, or are living in difficult family situations and coming from slums. We are grateful to be able to provide a quality education to the 600+ students we currently have enrolled in the school. We hope to continue building our community so that many more underprivileged youth in Uganda have the opportunity to learn, grow, and go to school.

Kampala Uganda

Alpha and Omega Junior School is a provider of educational services to the Kampala metropolitan region in Uganda for the Pre-school level and the Primary Level Certificate of education (Ages 5-12). The school currently enrols 1536 students, and has the capacity for double that. These schools help youth who have lost one or both of their parents, live in difficult circumstances such as slums and shanti towns, and youth who would have no other opportunity to go to school. Key Roles:• Founding director and currently ex-officio director after official registration. • Strategic planning• Human resource issues, including working with a team to evaluate and assess teacher progress• Competitive strategy• Thorough knowledge of current and proposed changes in academic curriculum• Student and teacher ethical issues • Quality improvement• Facilities expansion strategy, including discussions and planning with financial backers• Education background – I have a thorough understanding of how school systems work, and I integrate this knowledge into building our programs• Teacher/staff management – I focus on directing resources strategically in order to fulfill the needs of every teacher• Recruitment/Volunteer management – I work to engage individual’s passions and harness them to work effectively within an organization

Alpha and Omega Enterprise provides services for non-profit organizations in Uganda. The company employs 42 staff in Kampala and does business with a worldwide network of suppliers and distributors. Our work includes printing for local and international businesses and running a guest home for visiting humanitarian aid workers. I founded this Enterprise to help sustain the non-profit schools focused on providing education to youth who would not have another opportunity to go to school (Alpha & Omega Junior School and Shammah High School). Key Roles:• Strategic planning for the businesses• Marketing strategy • Regular travel to Uganda to maintain and nurture the businesses• Human resource management – managing staff, conflict resolution, problem solving and strategic analysis• Relationship management – supporting different kinds of personalities to bring out the best in everyone and create a thriving team
