I started learning leadership skills while in High school as an Officer in JROTC for 3 years. We learned to work together as a team. After high school I did 1 year of college and then decided to enlist in the Navy for 4 years. While serving in the military my leadership skills and teamwork abilities increased. I was able to learn how to adapt to very stressful situations as I spent a year and a half in Desert Storm. Patience was something I learned all too well as we were always told to hurry up and wait. As a firefighter I learned how to perform under pressure with a lot training and also having to battle 3 fires on our ship during a War Time. While learning how to weld I discovered that had very steady and controlled hands and very detailed for the small things that could make or break the work that I was doing. The military help set me up for the things in life that will help build your character and integrity.
