As a DEI Consultant, I facilitate trainings and strategies which support organizations as they build stronger communities which include diverse ethnicities, gender identities, orientations, and abilities. My work encourages internal communities to promote safe work environments, overall satisfaction, and retention of their employees.Completed contracts:Canoe Collective - Assess and review organizational policies and work place culture for non profits in the NYC and DC area; provide up to date Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion recommendations to improve capacity, and comfortability of diverse populations.Urban Boatbuilders to educate and diversify the staff, while also changing the grant boilerplate language, and overall organizational language used when referring to their youth.Big City Mountaineers - Develop and provide national training for 15-20 people regarding impact assessment and white supremacy. Training materials are being used to influence outreach and marketing language.Minneapolis Bouldering Project - create a queer focused, LGBTQIA+ climbing club that has brought in hundreds of new members. I have also provided expertise in the event planning and logistics of PRIDE events with the safety of queer attendees in mind.

Implement and recommend Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion based feedback after reviewing and assessing organizational policy, practices, and departments. Voyageur Outward Bound School (VOBS) changes lives through challenge and discovery. VOBS delivers world renowned experiential learning programs to help people of all ages and all walks of life discover that "there is more in them than they thought." Whether in a classroom, on a river, high ropes course, hiking trail or on a rock climbing wall, VOBS courses prepare students for the challenges of the classroom, family, community and life.During my tenure at VOBS, I had the pleasure of being a Lead Instructor. In this role, I planned and led extended 10-22 day backcountry wilderness expeditions with student groups of 7 or more while teaching the students social-emotional learning (SEL) lessons. To better serve our diverse student populations, I tailored flexible and well-rounded SEL curriculum focused on personal growth, growth mindset, physical/mental health, environmental education, and social justice based on our partnerships with other schools/programs or student demographics. To create better courses, Lead Instructors must assess student growth areas using a post-course social-emotional learning survey that was also used for grant reporting.A self-driven project was to create and implement Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) staff trainings that strove to inform, educate and question instructors' understanding of microaggresions, racial biases, transgender youth, and codeswitching. Each training had 7-20 people attending per session.

As a Logistic Support Coordinators, I kept track of trip logistics and scheduled supply planning meetings with co-instructors and course directors. The largest part of my position included compiling, maintaining, and stocking inventories of all our camping equipment, food supply, disposable base supplies, expedition clothes and repair kits. I was also the last stop for instructors to make sure they were fully prepared for their 3-22 day expeditions.

The Center for Victims of Torture is an international non-profit that provides direct care for those who have been tortured, trains partner organizations in the United States and around the world who can prevent and treat torture, conducts research to understand how best to heal survivors, and advocates for an end to torture. The program, Partners in Trauma Healing (PATH), creates a network of rehabilitation professionals who provide intellectual and emotional support for the difficult work of providing healing services to torture survivors. PATH works with ten centers focusing on three areas: mental health treatment and healing, monitoring and evaluation, and organizational development.When I was a Partners in Trauma Healing intern, my main responsibilities were to support PATH administrative staff by preparing country profile reports for personnel traveling to partner countries, assist in monitoring travel reports using Excel spreadsheet and help coordinate with administrative staff with various projects in a timely manner. The country profiles that I specifically created travel reports for were South Africa, Mozambique, and Angola.

College Outdoors develops students’ outdoor skills through experiential education, cultivates lifelong leaders, supports diversity, equity, and inclusion in the outdoors, and promotes a healthy community. College Outdoors provides the Lewis & Clark College community with access to the spectacular outdoor environments of the Pacific Northwest through a variety of activities including cross-country skiing, backpacking, whitewater sports, sea kayaking, and hiking.As a Trip Specialist and Environmental Educator, I instructed outdoor workshop regarding the identification and gathering of mushrooms and edible plants within the Pacific Northwest that lasted anywhere from 1 to 7 days. During these trips, I was responsible for teaching environmental education lessons regarding forest ecology within the Pacific Northwest, and educating students about the historical relationship mushrooms and plants have had with indigenous populations. Prior to these trips, I would co-plan and prepare course logistics by organizing pre-trip meetings and packing necessary food and equipment.
