Having studied in both Turkey and the United States at high-school and college, I believe in a global and multicultural perspective on education. I graduated from high school in the U.S., earned my BA degree in Business Administration from Koç University, and MA degree from Boğaziçi University as the top of my class with a 4.0 GPA. I worked as a doctoral researcher at Boğaziçi University and I am a PhDc in the Department of Political Science and International Relations.As a social scientist, I brought my interest in interdisciplinary education, non-profit work and academic background together when I joined the start-up of Khan Academy TR, the first international initiative of the U.S. based online learning platform. With a mission of providing a free world-class education for anyone, anywhere; Khan Academy is a non-profit organization with 160+ million registered learners in 59 languages. For over ten years, I have been working as Khan Academy's Turkish advocate, director of the Khan Academy TR team and the General Manager of the STFA Group’s Education Foundation. STFA is one of the most rooted conglomerates in Turkey, established in 1938.I serve in the advisory boards of a number of education institutions and give consultancy in ed-tech related projects. I am a co-founder and Board Member at the School Support Association, co-founder of the New Generation Learning Initiative, Executive Sector Commitee Member at TBD, 16th Term Board Member at BUMED, and a professional speaker registered with the Speaker Agency. I have spoken at nationwide and international conferences on education, technology, social entrepreneurship and leadership; including keynote at the first Educational Technologies Summit organized by the Turkish Ministry of National Education, Social Good Summit organized by UNDP, Mobile Learning Week organized by UNESCO and the International Brand Conference. I also had the chance to keynote conferences abroad and to share my experience on TEDx stage multiple times, including TEDxReset, the first and largest TED Talks organization in Turkey. In 2017, I have been honored by JCI as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons in Turkey and awarded for Humanitarian and Voluntary Leadership. In 2018, I was nominated for the global prize. My ultimate goal is to help revolutionize learning and to take an active role in shaping the future of education, for a better world.
