Having jobs in multiple industries has given me an amazing grab-bag of skills and experience. While working for a university I am charged with not only evaluating and processing coursework punctually, but also responsibly and securely transporting and storing their grades and other information. Working under pressure to meet those demands as well as my own academic responsibilities has become an environment I am very comfortable in. As a student, my hard work and dedication allowed me to achieve several scholarships from UTEP's Geology and Math Departments, and Marathon Oil Company, as well as earned research and teaching assistantships.Outside of academics, I also keenly developed communication and listening skills working as a customer service specialist and, in another time, a sales consultant. The most important part of my day to day experiences in these jobs was to carefully and quickly interpret my client's needs and providing a satisfactory solution. Additionally, my own attitude and care for each individual client often resulted in recognition for my efforts and successes. Part of that success was my ability to work in a wide variety of supervising environments. As a sales consultant, it was part of my duties to create my own sales opportunities. But as a customer service specialist, the structure and parameters of the company were strictly monitored. In both cases, I excelled and earned the respect and loyalty of my clients, coworkers, and supervisors.
