Served as a quality manager on a medical device project with a $90 million budget. Responsible for establishing, maintaining and managing the conduct of quality and reliability of the project. Established and led the Design for Reliability (DfR) strategies for the project which includes supplier quality, product reliability, software quality, and safety assurance. Received an award on a $14 million project for leading a quality team on achieving all milestones ahead of schedule and under budget.

First line functional manager of Eagan Command and Control (C2) Software Engineers supporting programs within the C2 business area. Responsibilities included: people management for approximately 20-30 professionals, engineering resource allocation across program domains, rigorous application of software engineering processes during execution, staffing and hiring, resource demand forecasting, skill gap analyses, technical vitality of software engineering people, processes, and tools, sustainment of software engineering cost estimating relationships, and overhead budget management. I also support various programs and pursuits in support of software horizontal integration across the corporation. I led the corporate Engineering Process Improvement (EPI) Environment & Tools Working Group and participated in strategic planning for Software Engineering.

Selected as first line software engineering manager for two Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) air traffic control programs. Responsibilities included software cost, schedule and technical performance as well as risk management and customer satisfaction on the programs.Functional responsibilities included work scope determination, personnel management, schedule planning, direct customer interface, customer and internal review preparation and coordination with the program manager on customer action item control.

As manager of staff development I was responsible for the professional development and management of all staff consultants. Primary areas of focus: management of over 100 consultants and two staff managers, supporting the recruiting operations, creation of a professional development plan for all consultants, creation and management of a client QA continuous support process, determining consultant salary structures and consultant performance reviews.

As branch operations manager I was responsible for various management functions within the Minneapolis Branch. Primary areas of focus: management of over 50 consultants, project manager for a branch extranet, assisting the recruiting operations, developing branch financial data, custodian of an event tracking client/server application, determining consultant salary structures, consultant performance reviews, and management of daily business operations. I also supported numerous sales efforts, interviewed and selected new consultants and served as an instructor of two internal classes.

I developed, implemented and maintained an Internet site and server application for a large Product Data Management (PDM) corporation. Their internal staff and customers used the site to obtain information and download software updates. Technologies used were C/C++, HTML, JavaScript, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL, Netscape Enterprise Server, Oracle and proprietary object oriented languages called MODeL and MetaWeb. I created a reporting program for a major health insurance company used in the calculation of commissions for their sales staff. Technologies used were C, PowerBuilder, Entera and Sybase.

Served as technical team lead and/or software engineer on various projects for the FAA and United States Department of Defense (DoD). I was involved in the design, software implementation and test phases of numerous projects. I was selected as a member of a system integration team and spent 14 months working and living in Germany as part of a software sustainment contract with the German Navy.
