After over 25 years working as an independent consultancy to the UK Financial Services / Fintech industry, with particular knowledge of open standards and system integrations, I am delighted to have joined the team at Time4Advice full-time. I worked as a technical architect and lead developer, initially on their high volume CTP insurance quotation system and then on the design and development of their secure portal service (eXweb/Exchange) that is used by 90% of all registered IFA’s in the UK to access products and services from 290 product providers.I designed, developed and supported the Exchange New Business service, which became the first live system in the UK for submitting Bonds, Term and Pension applications online using Origo XML standards.This was an interesting period because my work at The Exchange encompassed the 'Dot Com Boom' period that The Exchange took full advantage of to become the second UK internet technology company (after Freeserve) to float on the FTSE 250 stock market. Over that period, the technology base did indeed cross from desktop (distributed on large piles of floppy disks posted out to 15,000 or so customers) over to fully web based.
