The Chief Operational Risk Officer (CORO) is responsible for effectively controlling Outsourcing and Operational Resilience / Business Continuity / Operational Risk Function, Logical Access and Data Management Office in accordance with the applicable Conduct Rules by:• driving a culture of integrity by promoting open, honest and transparent dealing in the day-to-day operations of Outsourcing and Operational Resilience / Business Continuity / Operational Risk Function, Logical Access and Data Management Office including escalation as appropriate;• adhering to organisational and administrative arrangements within Operational Risk, in order to manage conflicts of interest;• identifying, escalating and remediating issues Outsourcing and Operational Resilience / Business Continuity / Operational Risk Function, Logical Access and Data Management Office that could directly or indirectly lead to the unfair treatment of customers;• utilising the open and effective channels within Outsourcing and Operational Resilience / Business Continuity / Operational Risk Function, Logical Access and Data Management Office for the escalation and reporting of issues both at the regional / functional level as well as at the requisite governance committees;• ensuring the reporting of breaches of the relevant requirements of the regulatory system in relation to the Operational Risk Function, in a timely and appropriate manner to the Chief Operations Function and the Compliance and HR functions

As Director GRM Operational Risk, A&O, responsible for providing independent and objective oversight of operational risk management for the businesses within I&TS. The primary purpose is to ensure that operational risk profiles for each business within I&TS have been established, kept current and demonstrate fair and accurate representation of operational risk exposure.This role partners closely with the Chief Risk Officer and the business to facilitate the implementation of the operational risk framework and sound risk management practices across the business platform.Acts as a leader in Operational Risk Management to deliver the vision and execute the ORM plan through a team of ORM professionalsDirect the implementation of RBC’s Operational Risk Management program and practicesProvide Operational Risk advice and monitor key and emerging risksEnable regulatory change, Operational Risk governance and reporting

Manage all activities related to Business Governance, Performance and Engagement:- Manage, monitor and report on the performance of Client Operations globally- Ensure that the Global Operations Leadership Team deliver to the Client Operations annual objectives, plan, and overall strategy- Act as a key escalation point for Client Operations globally- Responsible for ensuring that any major incident or error impacting Client Operations or Clients is effectively managed with the Global Head of Client Operations- Ensure that all Client Operations staff are engaged and communicated with, so that they clearly understand RBC, I&TS and Client Operations strategy, plan, objectives and that they understand their role in contributing to their success- Manage FTE requirements globally and ensure effective use of resources through meticulous review and approval processes- Responsible for managing annual planning and strategic plan for Client Operations globally including financial requirements and FTE forecasting

Manage all Client Operations activities linked to Business Continuity Management and in particular:- Client Operations adaptation and readiness in case of event requiring Global or Local Business Continuity plans- Client Operations activities coordination to recover from any system or technical breakdown- Covers all locations including North America, Europe and APAC

Manage Operations Controls teams in Luxembourg, covering- Securities and Cash Reconciliation- E&Os and Claims management- Oversight- Controls, Policies and Processes improvement in collaboration with Operational areas- “Audit-Like” activities coordination in relation with Operations Luxembourg as well as for Luxembourg clients (Funds audit).- Static data management- Metrics reporting
