Having 30 years in the H&S and Risk Management sector, Steve is a highly experienced international H&S professional who started Altruisk (formerly SMC) so that he could bring his philosophy of a pragmatic, yet dynamic approach to H&S in supporting both corporate business and smaller enterprises to progress their risk management in a positive and progressive way. He has considerable experience in a wide variety of industry sectors including specialist industries such as manufacturing and oil and gas exploration, and, worked on projects in over 12 countries including the Middle East and South America. Having worked for an Enforcement Agency (HSE) and a major International Insurance company has a very sound understanding of both the Criminal and Civil aspects of H&S law and how this applies at a corporate and individual level. He regularly facilitates workshops or delivers training to senior leaders in both the private and public sectors, and advises companies and directors on their individual and collective risk management responsibilities. Steve is also experienced in project managing high-level health and safety audits for corporate clients looking for impartial recommendations on how to improve management systems and/ or levels of competence.
