Student Internship
Under the guidance of Assistant Professor Muzaffer ARIKAN, I focused on microbiome analysis. This encompassed tasks ranging from quality control analysis of raw NGS data to merging paired-end reads and filtering sequencing data based on quality metrics. Additionally, I acquired skills in determining the taxonomic composition of the data and visualizing it at different taxonomic levels. I also developed the ability to conduct alpha and beta diversity analyses to identify significant differences between datasets and statistically validate their abundance. Throughout this process, I had the opportunity to learn various tools including RStudio, Trimmomatic, and FLASh.
