I spent over 20 years in cyber security, half of them running my own company.My field was vulnerability research and reverse engineering.I released security advisories and exploits for the 0-days vulnerabilities I found, reverse engineered source code, analysis of file formats, compression and encryption algorithms, password recovery tools, patches:- prolific researcher for the Zero Day Initiative for 3 years- 0-days in SCADA, enterprise products, databases, frameworks and libraries, media players, online poker, web servers, p2p, smartTV, games, and others- largest amount of security vulnerabilities in multiplayer games- largest collection of extractors and info on game file formatsIn the news for:- DMCA threat from Gamespy in 2003- HMI/SCADA exploits havoc in 2011-2012- Microsoft RDP ms-12-020 0-day leak in 2012- insecurity of Samsung and Philips SmartTV in 2011/2014- exploits and governments on The New York Times in 2013Supporter of open source and full-disclosure (aluigi.org).Speaker at hacking conferences: PoC, S4, BlackHat, NSC, PHDays, HITB.In 2012 I founded REVULN where we performed various research, projects, and activities for companies, organizations, and governments.I was behind the security of Unreal Engine and Fortnite.In 2019 I organized and financed my own international conferences in Asia and Europe: invitation-only, free, self financed.Various topics using cybersecurity for touching surveillance, privacy, digital rights, fake news, activism, intelligence.For one year in mid 2022 I helped a nonprofit Filipino organization, the National ICT Confederation of the Philippines (NICP), to expand their contacts, sponsors, and partners, moreover thanks to a full time work on building the "face" of the brand, a LinkedIn profile that reached 7.000 real connections from zero, promoting their activities, collecting speaking engagements, supporting their events, handling the internal communications, writing content, and additional background works.Currently promoting, writing about, and attending events in Metro Manila like conferences, summits, expos, meetups, trainings, demos, and other events on information technology, startups, HR, marketing, economy, and so on.I use my past experience as conference organizer & speaker and my network to help organizers, exhibitors, and participants.I'm also one of the officers of the ICT Industry Council of the Philippines (ICTIC), a membership-based SEC registered nonprofit organization focused on connecting students, individuals, and companies in information technology.
