I am driven minded, I work smart over hard, I'm a man.At an early age I had a mind for marketing. My very first business venture was at the age of 12. It was a partnership with my good friend Mr Lee Perkin. We had a weekend car washing business to earn a few bob. We called ourselves "The Chamois Brothers" and charged customers £5 to wash and dry their car. We would buy our equipment from a local shop and became self sufficient. We built up 5/6 regulars and would often door canvass for more. In retrospect, people spend £5 to have their cars hand-washed these days, maybe we should have stuck with that business :DMy fear in life is to cease learning. Personal development is key for my survival and is probably why I have acquired such a vast skill set so far in my journey - most of which is far too much to list.

Managing Director And Field PhotographerUnity Photo 2004 - 2011Event Photography company specializing in live dance performances.A family business. 4 staff to work live events, 2 on stand, 2 photographers. Taking advantage of server technology, we would run up to 20 laptops at an event increasing our customer viewing area. Photographs were printed and sold live on site. We introduced live onsite software that allowed customers to simply click the picture they wished to purchase and the size. Once payment was received, it was marked as paid and would print automatically on one of 3 printers. A print server handled this task.An E-commerce website was introduced with strong promotion. There was no change in on site sales but it did improve the live stand with less people queueing to view pictures. Thereby increasing customer experience and our efficiency.A database driven website allowed for effective watermarking and diminished the ability to illegally grab any image from the site, unless you were very technologically advanced. Even then, the image would be watermarked. This website further saved time exporting photos and having to resize as the back office websoftware would be automated to do this at the point of uploading. A bulk uploader would also create categories and sub categorie based on your windows folder structure. It would also ignore duplications if you were to further update from the same folder structure. This gave us maximum productivity and the ability to deliver live online images within seconds of being shot at the event (wireless SLR camera device incorporated).The website actually increased our sales by 42% - on average. We offset the web cost and the ongoing maintenance (which was very minimal) by 'reasonably' upscaling postage and handling fees.The website then gave an online portfolio and live example of work which in turn brought us new clients by way of referral.The business was sold to a competitor after it lost it's appeal and the honeymoon period had come to an end. Although I do miss it now!

We started this with the option to upload a dance routine video, using some youtube technology which we hosted and streamed on our servers, we allowed users to vote for their favourite. Programming was a task at that time to ensure unique votes per user and to prevent multiple signups under different accounts for the same purpose. Using some Joomla programming and some custom made modifiers and add ons we got there in less than one month.This was highly successful and also gave a further ability in promoting to customer base by way of better data capture and direct marketing. This in turn, gave a reduction in administrative costs making it easier and far less time consuming dealing with memberships in general, allocation for competition categories and live sign-ups at the events themselves. Reducing paper trails, staff and of course time and queues.We later introduced an online e-commerce area which reduced staff costs at events and saw a 25% increase in sales with less than a 5% increase in costs.Dealt with corporations such as Nokia, BMG Sony, Psycho TV, Pineapple Dance Studios and many other big names.
