As the founder of Circle of Unity Support, I am dedicated to fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment for veteran/military spouses, caregivers, and former spouses. Through sharing my personal stories, compassionate listening, and continual affirmation of everyone’s worth, I aim to foster a sense of belonging, hope, resilience, and a renewed sense of purpose in every community member. Our mission is to provide vital support and resources, empowering individuals as they navigate the challenges of a loved one with substance misuse and PTSD.

Facilitated curriculum-driven peer support groups for veteran spouses/partners, allowing participants to come together, share their stories, challenges, and successes, and lean on one another for support and guidance.

*Provided personalized career transition services to US military veterans, Active and Reserve service members, and spouses of service members and veterans.*Completed detailed individual client intake assessment.*Developed individualized client job search strategy plan.*Created customized private sector resume translating military skills and experience into civilian terms.

*Develop and implement a strategic volunteer engagement plan. Lead recruiting events, training, and supervision for 75+ volunteers, which resulted in establishing strong visibility of programs in the community. Increased volunteer engagement satisfaction level to 92%.*Acquire approved funding to host monthly patient comfort care program activities at local Veteran Affairs hospital. Increase volunteer engagement opportunities, supporting monthly food bank and holiday events.*Oversaw Thank A Hero card signing event, story featured in Fort Hood Sentinel paper. Collected 235 cards for distribution to local Veteran Affairs hospital.

*Briefed groups and individuals on transitions services, eligibility requirements, and benefits compliant with congressionally mandated career readiness standards.*Advised clients in completing gap analysis and development of individual transition plan. Completed needs assessment for continuum of services, providing referrals to community organizations.*Instructed job assistance training in group or individual setting focused on resume writing and skills evaluation. Assisted clients in translating military skills to develop federal or private sector resume.

*Advocated for clients to acquire financial assistance to obtain/sustain permanent housing within the program’s monthly budget of $8K. Successfully assisted 163 households exceeding program goals. *Counseled clients in developing individualize case plan addressing barriers, goals, and responsibilities. Monitored and documented client progress through detailed case notes utilizing case management forms.*Triaged clients utilizing vulnerability index-service prioritization decision assistance tool. Advised clients on program guidelines and referral services to local community agencies providing service linkage to ensure clients’ needs were met.

*Instructed 180 public transit orientation participants providing educational resources and transit fare. Increased awareness, independence, and mobility through guided trips to service locations, outdoor events, cultural and educational sites.*Implemented on campus transportation assistance program at Bellevue College. Assisted 250 students during fall new student orientation and welcome session. Advised students on travel options, cost efficiency, and ridesharing initiative. *Trained 100+ human/social service agency staff members and clients on program functions, policies, and procedures; served as a key contact for program contracts, reporting, and data.

*Researched and analyzed data to identify areas to support participants. Served as a representative advocating to improve quality of life and family programs.*Established recurring monthly outreach conducting family needs assessment.
