Alva Appelgren has been giving lectures in Social Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Statistics, Experimental Design and Developmental Psychology. She did her PhD in the field of Cognitive Neuroscience at Karolinska Institutet on the topics feedback, motivation and self-concept. She also supervises student degree projects.

She has together with the R&D at Cogmed designed and performed two studies in Swedish schools trying to answer:How does intrinsic motivation and mindset influence working memory training compliance?How does feedback influence training improvement and effort?

Alva worked as a Key account manager at Gothia Medical during 2.5 years. She worked at the departments of cardiology and neuroradiology in all university hospitals in Norway and Denmark Her main areas were neuroradiology, cardiology and periferal intervention. She assisted in surgery using devices for trombectomy and intravascular imaging techniques for stent placement during interventional cardiology when treating unstable angina.Her main tasks were: sales, education, communication, building networks, technical support, marketing, budget planing.
