As a designer at Vasava Studio, my responsabilities include typeface design, lettering, illustration and graphic design for brands, publications, exhibitions and other projects. I work in close collaboration with other designers to make letters really nice to look at.

Under the name of Naipe Foundry, brazilian duo Álvaro Franca and Felipe Casaprima offer typographic services from the design and refinement of logotypes to the creation of original proprietary typefaces.Since 2018, they’ve collaborated with large companies and small businesses to find the exact typographic tone of voice that can empower the messages of their clients, be it in print, the web or in motion.

As chapter lead of TypeThursday my responsibilities include overlooking and coordinating a team of volunteers, reaching out to sponsors and partners across educational institutions, publishing houses, beverage providers and the creative industries. Me and my team organize and promote a monthly event for designers in Barcelona to meet up and share work in progress in a safe and constructive environment. Me and my team organize and promote a monthly event for designers in Barcelona to meet up and share work in progress in a safe and constructive environment. Most of the work is in preparation of the event, but each month my work becomes socially focused on the day of the event, when I have to interact with the public and the presenters to create a nice ambience and to help people meet each other, it is a lot of work but it is highly satisfactory. As Chapter Lead of the Barcelona Chapter I also have to coordinate with the broader TypeThursday network of chapters across eight cities in three countries. Show less

Since this April I have worked as the designer at the Mies van der Rohe Foundation, where my responsabilities include creating publications and branding systems for exhibitions, events and prizes organized by MiesBCN, including participations at the Biennale di Venezia, Barcelona Design Week and Barcelona Arquitecture week. A wonderful opportunity to work in culture providing a diverse range of opportunities to use typography to convey information in many diferentmedia and contexts.

At Dalton Maag I took part in their training programme for Font Developers. I learned calligraphy and trained my eyesight under the supervision of Ron Carpenter, then I created my own original typeface design starting from a briefing and original research into newspaper typefaces. During this time I got acquainted with Font Developing software, research methodologies, caligraphic hands and more. I enjoyed an environment of over 50 typeface designers from whom I learned every day.
