When I joined Affinitas, I helped the Mobile Team to solve quality-related issues by introducing and coaching the team on good practices and industry-leading techniques and tools, such as test automation, TDD, Continuous Integration, Espresso, etc. My collaboration dramatically improved the stability of the eDarling and EliteSingles apps, from 8x% to 99+% crash-free sessions. I’ve built the company’s first CI/CD pipeline from scratch, including building, executing Unit and UI tests in multiple devices, and automatically uploading builds to internal distribution channels and Google Play. I’ve also supported co-workers from other specialities and teams, e.g. investigating complex issues involving multiple back-end services, implementing features in backend software, contributing improvements to iOS apps, etc.When Affinitas acquired AttractiveWorld, I was among a small group the management named “A-Team”, composed by the company’s top talent, whose mission was to integrate that brand’s software with Affinitas’ quickly and smoothly. My main project at this phase was to build a new Java Spring-based Billing system integrated with a new Payment Gateway.Finally, when Affinitas merged with Spark Networks, I was one of the very first engineers to work on a completely new platform targeting high business scalability, allowing the now publicly listed company much higher efficiency when launching new brands, acquiring/merging competitors, and expanding brands to new markets/regions. I built this green field Android application with the best available tools and techniques: 100% Kotlin, Android Data Binding, Dependency Injection w/ Dagger, REST APIs consumption with Retrofit and OkHttp, Continuous Integration and Delivery, static analysis, Unit and UI (Espresso) tests for all use cases, ProGuard/R8 integration for Intellectual Property protection and download size optimisation, and much more.
