Classic economic models assume people are rational agents trying to maximise their profit when making decisions. These decisions are operated in uncertain environment such as financial markets. Investors have to deal with the intrinsic risk of these environments. Literature suggests that some people might be making decisions based on their previous experience [1]. We study how investors learn by interacting with these non-deterministic systems. The model framework adopted for such purpose is Reinforcement Learning.It includes a set of free parameters that can capture various strategies.The model will be fitted to the variety of profiles from real world data to investigate whether optimal behaviour correlates with the same strategy type.[1] Choi, Laibson, Madrian, Metrick. I have been a Lab demonstrator for several modules in both the BSc and the MSc in Computer Science at the University of Sheffield. Java Advanced Programming (Master module): I delivered the lab lectures and guided the students with examples, helping them solve the problem with the correct approach. The topics involved inlcluded inheritance, polymorphism, recursion, string manipulation, I/O.Bio-inspired Computing (3rd year module):I assisted the lecturer with the lab session on genetic algorithms, explaining the key concepts and the potential improvements to the algorithm used to solve the traveling salesman problem. Including mutation and crossover.Adaptive Intelligence (3rd year module):I delivered the labs, developed the code migration, which consisted inpythonizing the MATLAB legacy code, and marked the assignment.The topics of this modules included synaptic plasticity, Hebbian Learning, Competitive Learning, Principal Component Analysis, Neural Networks, Reinforcement Learning (Q-Learning and SARSA).Modelling and Simulation of Natural Systems (3rd year + Master module):I delivered the lab and the seminars explaining both the analytical/numerical solutions and the code solutions. I also marked the assignments for this module.The topics ranged from analytical and numerical solutions (Euler and Runge-Kutta methods) for ODEs, to spiking neurons models.

I have reviewed multiple scientific manuscripts and contributions for Elsevier and PLoS ONE publishers and for the MIDAS workshop (part of the ECML-PKDD 2017 Conference).This responsibility allowed me to test my knowledge and pushed me to adapt my perspective on other scientists works.

I have worked as Team Manager for the BHW Financial branch in Bari and north province.During this time I developed communication skills and learned to manage a small team of co-workers (4 members).While working here I gained a deeper insight into financial markets, specifically the housing market and the associated mortgage scenarios. I have always maintained an ethical behavior, by providing unbiased financial consulting to my clients.During this period I witnessed in first person the long wave of the subprime mortgage crisis hitting European housing markets and developed a new strategy, based on mortgage-oriented savings, to tackle the decrease in the demand for mortgages.

By touring the southern Italy region of Puglia with brand-promoting campaigns, I've refined my communication skills as well as client-dealing competence. The brands included Ikea, Havana Club Rum, Suzuki Swift, and similar.

I have been working as lifeguard, taking care of the two pools of the resort and the maintenance of the technical rooms, including pH levels and water pumps.During this time I have also been part of the entertainment crew, developing communication and team skills.
