Responsible for the delivery for one of the aims of the Union’s strategic plan; brought together staff to develop activities and ensured they took place. Reported on these activities to the overall monitoring group. Resolved complaints regarding student groups. Mentored, advised and provided technical support to student officers. Provided crisis management support and responded to press enquires. Managed the Union’s sustainability work and worked towards sustainability (Green Impact) accreditation.

The equivalent of a 0.2 FT secondment to the University, part of the Strategic Change Unit.Responsible for establishing and leading process reviews across the University. Gather and organise complex information and data to identify underlying issues and their causes. Evaluate and select strategies to achieve the desired outcomes of a Lean Six Sigma review, develop decision criteria and consider factors. Coordinate the work for each project to ensure it reaches completion.

Set up new accounts with Barclaycard. Met a weekly payments deadline, no matter the amount of claims received. Enforced and suggested improvements to the Travel and Expense Policy.

Elected full time role. Public face and representative of the Union. Signatory and overarching responsibility for the Union finances, in practice staff managed this and advised. Ex officio Director of Safety. Attended meetings determining the strategic direction of the University as a University Governor. Represented students and their views to the University, community and other external bodies. Line managed the General Manger, in practice this was an open working relationship with regular communication. Undertook work and initiatives to improve the student experience.

Elected full time role. Responsible for the Union’s work on welfare i.e. student finance, health and academic initiatives and campaigns. Coordinated the course representative and student representative programme and campaigned on educational issues affecting students. Coordinated the facilitation of student societies and supported the competitive and recreational sports provision.
