Leading the Programmes and Engagement Team of Sports Division, my team looks mainly at policy and significant operational issues surrounding major sporting events, as well as other portfolio areas such as esports, community sports participation and disability sports. Efforts include bringing sport back safely amidst the pandemic uncertainty, working closely with fellow public agencies and sporting organisations to allow the hosting of major sporting events in Singapore.Awarded the National Day Awards Commendation Medal (Pingat Kepujian) for contributions toward Bringing Sport Back as part of the nation’s management of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Working closely with all NHB divisions and senior management, the Strategic Planning (SP) team manages the development of strategies and work plans for the organisation, ensuring alignment with Whole-of-Government objectives and our strategic outcomes. SP also reviews and analyses NHB’s key performance indicators and statistics, in order to glean insights on the progress and impact of the organisation's strategies and initiatives, and to apprise MCCY and NHB Board of Directors on our corporate performance. Research and data exploitation are key areas that the Data Strategy & Analytics team looks at, as it would be helpful for NHB to identify sector trends, audience perceptions, etc. that could provide useful insights on our operating environment.As SAD/SPA, I lead the SP and Data Strategy & Analytics Teams as part of the Strategic Planning & Data Management Division, working with and supporting my capable team of six officers.

I oversee the management and operations of SYSNMH and MHC which are heritage institutions of the NHB. Supervising and coaching a staff strength of up to 20 officers, I manage the four teams in Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall and Malay Heritage Centre, namely the Curatorial, Operations & Estate, Outreach & Education and Programmes & Marketing teams. Both institutions achieved record visitorship figures in 2018. As GM, I strategise, spearhead, and facilitate engagements and collaborations with partners ranging from community stakeholders to foreign institutions. I also play the strategic planning role in ensuring the institutions' alignment with the objectives of NHB and the community. I took over as Acting GM of the Malay Heritage Centre from April 2018.About Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial HallSYSNMH traces Dr. Sun's revolutionary activities in the Southeast Asian region and highlights the impact of the 1911 Chinese Revolution on Singapore as well as Singapore's contributions to the Revolution. The Memorial Hall features a storyline that introduces key community leaders in the early 20th century, highlighting Nanyang as a base for Revolution while exploring the impact and influences of the 1911 Chinese Revolution on the Singapore Chinese community. The Memorial Hall also conducts periodic special exhibitions, programmes and festivals celebrating the Chinese Heritage in Singapore.About Malay Heritage CentreThe Malay Heritage Centre (MHC) provides wonderful cultural exposure and learning opportunities for visitors of all ages and interests. Situated amidst the Istana Kampong Gelam, Gedung Kuning and the surrounding Kampong Gelam precinct, the Centre acts as a vital heritage institution for the Malay community in Singapore. Through its exhibits, programmes and activities, the Centre hopes to honour the past while providing a means for present-day expression.

As part of the International Relations team, I developed and implemented IR strategies and initiatives that promote and protect NHB’s international interests in the areas of heritage and culture. More specifically, I oversaw the ASEAN, China and USA IR portfolios for NHB and represented NHB in diplomatic meetings and at the relevant international forums involving the aforementioned countries. I was also Singapore’s Secretariat for the ASEAN Sub-Committee on Culture (SCC) and ASEAN Plus Three Cultural Cooperation Network (APTCCN) forums. Being an advocate for close ties and a strong identity between regional neighbours, I take great pride in playing a key role in Singapore's cultural diplomacy with our ASEAN counterparts. During my time in the International Relations team, I coordinated NHB's organisation of the 3rd APTCCN Meeting and 16th ASEAN SCC Meeting in August 2014 and June 2015 respectively. I also participated in other forums such as the ASEAN Ministers Responsible for Culture & the Arts (AMCA), Senior Officials Responsible for Culture & the Arts (SOMCA), Committee on Culture & Information (COCI), etc.I held a concurrent appointment in the Partnerships Division from December 2013 to July 2014 which oversaw issues concerning the organisation's tie-ups and cooperation with private institutions such as museums, IGs and NGOs.

I taught five students on a temporary basis prior to my departure to the UK for postgraduate studies. From June to July 2012, I also took on a temporary appointment to teach at a student care centre. Teaching is something I enjoy. Subjects I taught included Integrated Programme Language Arts, Research Studies, Mathematics and Creative Writing.

Trained as an Air Traffic Controller (Aerodrome Tower) by vocation, I undertook various leadership roles in my 5 years as a military officer in the RSAF. My time as a senior instructor to officer cadets provided me the opportunity to help develop aspiring youths as leaders. Prior to my enlistment for National Service, I assisted the Student & Alumni Affairs department in Temasek Polytechnic, handling student development issues and mentoring youths in their efforts in co-curricular activities.

As part of my diploma education, I underwent the student internship programme with MediaCorp Press as an intern in the Sales & Marketing division of English daily “TODAY”.
