As the Director of Studies it's my responsibility to ensure the smooth operation of our center in terms of the business as well as the staff.I'm tasked with the responsibility to increase sales, grow the school in terms of students and teachers, improving customer feedback and in turn bump up student retention.I'm also involved with the opening of new classes, recruitment of new teachers, training and development of all staff as well as evaluating current employees based on their performance. As I'm in charge of managing the school's schedule for classes and other events, a core function of my role is to ensure that these events fit onto our schedule alongside our regular classes while also planning ahead in terms of new classes which we want to open further down the line.

I have recently been promoted to Senior Teacher, a position which would require me to manager other teachers while still teaching. I'm required to assist with the training and development of others to ensure that we deliver high standards of teaching to our students. This is done through class observations, feedback sessions, working out a developmental plan and then following up with the necessary workshops and / or tailored training sessions.As a Senior Teacher I'm also required to assist the Director of Studies with his /her duties, and lead in their absence. Therefore I need to be aware of what they do and how to do it myself when they are not able to do so themselves.In the near future I will go to Shanghai for specialized training for this new position, and following that I will also be presented with additional training of my choice which would then prepare me for the next step in my career ladder, which is the position of Assisting Director of Studies.

I teach English to students ranging between the ages of 3 and 17. Focus is placed on spoken English, however grammar is also taught to older students (aged 6 and older) to prepare them for English tests in their schools or elsewhere. I also aid students who are looking to be accepted into an English university abroad to pass their acceptance exam, as well as people who are required to speak English at a specific level to be considered for an international job opportunity.Classes vary in size, and we can have anything from 4 to 16 students in a class. For people with more specific requirements we offer VIP (1-on-1) classes where we can tailor our material based on their goals and/or needs.
