Being in charge of my chapter's social media platforms during COVID-19 created a deeper understanding of how crucial analytics, niches, branding, and schedules are for any organization or company. I took on this role as a freshman and created and collected content for Instagram, Facebook, VSCO, Tik Tok, and our website. This enabled me to maintain our brand and image as well as create a substantial following from young women who may have considered to go through sorority recruitment. About two months into my position, the pandemic took over and I had to configure how to generate content while our chapter was separated. This role not only allowed me to be creative, it also began my interest in marketing and ended up being the reason I became a marketing student.

Working as the Designer at TimberCraft Homes, I assisted clients with designing and personalizing their dream home in order to meet their wants and needs. Along with that, I monitored every step of the design and build process to ensure that my clients expectations were met. I created graphics and other promotional content to increase home sales and brand awareness, as well as manage our website to ensure that all content andmove-in ready home listings were up to date.

Working the front desk allowed me to further my communication skills, as well as develop proficient computer skills and telephone etiquette. I created lead generation as well as kept in touch with current residents to ensure that they were taken care of. This position also showed me the setting of an office environment and what it really means to work together as a team to reach our goals.

From making graphics for email campaigns, to organizing content for a new application, I have been able to work hands on with the Networking Team in order to create material for associates to show new members as well as generate leads.

With this position, I did everything from preparing clothes to go out on the floor, to helping customers find sizes or try on items, then to payment and order of the front desk. I worked every aspect of the job to greeting customers at the door, to wishing them farewell when they made a purchase and headed toward the door. I learned how to use receipt books, credit card machines, and the importance of merchandise layout. This was my first real job and I gained a great understanding of basic skills that I have continued to use in my more recent positions at other businesses - such as communication, work ethic, paying attention to details, and so much more.
