People always come first. As someone who is interested in continuing to grow and develop as a leader, I've found that my magic sauce is rooted in putting people on my team first. I could have the greatest tools, metrics, processes, and systems in place, but if the people I look after don't feel supported, cared for, and invested in, then everything else goes out the window.I work hard to ensure that people I look after have something to look forward to, especially when it comes to professional development and growth. I want to understand the skills you want to develop, the path you want to pursue, and support you in identifying opportunities to learn those skills and put them into practice.I see my role as setting the vision and targets of where we want to get to as a team, and, more importantly, why it is that we need to get there so that everyone understands our purpose. Beyond that, I want to give each individual the freedom, autonomy, trust, and creativity to find the best path forward. If something works well for the team, I'll institutionalize and automate it, and we'll continue to experiment from there. While I have my own approach and philosophy for being a successful manager, it is my duty to adapt to needs of the individuals of my team, and work to ensure that I am meeting them where they are.Let's be experimental and try new things. If it works, great! We'll figure out how to scale it. If it doesn't work, let's see what we can learn from it for when we try again.I love chaos because I enjoy picking it apart and creating order from it to generate results. I'm a self-aware leader who focuses on supporting the people he serves in achieving their goals. I'm an empathetic team member who works to bring ideas together, include everyone, and make progress toward results. I think (and live) outside the box to bring radical ideas to the table and encourage those around me to dream bigger.On a personal level, I live to travel (71 countries to date) and use this as a huge source of influence in my work and cite it as the root of my ability to easily connect with people from anywhere and everywhere; I spend way too much time in my kitchen creating recipes; I'm a shutterbug and love to tell stories with photographs; and I'm a current affairs junkie, doing my best to read up on what's happening around the world.If any of this vibes with you, please feel free to reach out to me at alymassoud@gmail.com.
