I was responsible for creating and editing written and visual content weekly for the blog and social media accounts, collaborating with team members and sharing ideas for growth and improvement while maintaining a clear brand image.

State Representative Ammons is a dedicated civil leader in the Urbana-Champaign community and ran for reelection in the 103rd District of Illinois in 2016. She successfully won due to her dedication and local support. As a communications and media intern I researched Illinois legislation, current issues related to Representative Ammons' reelection campaign, and local community engagement. I wrote content for the representative's social media presence and collaborated with the communications team to increase supporters for the reelection. This included creating visual and written content, updating her website and engaging with followers through a ladder of engagement.

Green Top Grocery is a community-owned, locally-focused cooperative in the Central Illinois Area. The goal is to provide locally sourced, healthy and sustainable food. The cooperative grocery store raised over $1 million from owners, began construction in the Spring of 2016 and just celebrated it's grand opening in May of 2017.During my time interning for Green Top Grocery, much of my focus was on the owner loan campaign. I was selected to join the outreach call team to contact owners about making loans to bring the store to life. Additionally, I put together training materials, volunteer schedules and met with many current and potential owners to increase awareness about co-ops and what it can do for the community.
