I am currently a second year student at Curtin University, undertaking a Bachelor of Allied Health in Psychology, with high goals of achieving a masters degree or PhD in either Clinical Psychology, Abnormal Psychology or Neuropsychology.As someone who is passionate about developing a greater understanding of the human behaviour and gaining more knowledge on mental health, I consider myself to hold a high desire of emotionally supporting others, and applying therapeutic approaches. Ultimately, I am extremely motivated to empower others in gaining confidence in themselves; to mentally support individuals during difficult situations, and to improve people’s overall mood and spirits.I constantly seek for new skill development to further progress my career and individual goals. Moreover, working in alternative industries during my adolescence has significantly improved my personal and professional experience, allowing me to learn the following about myself: - I love going above and beyond to solve problems and find solutions for certain issues - I set direct goals, personal expectations, desired outcomes in order to achieve certain tasks- I love building sustainable relationships with both customers and colleagues as it allows me to build a deeper connection in regards to expanding my knowledge within a professional work environment - I find it extremely rewarding to satisfy the customer’s needs and wants - I consider myself to hold an ability to provide strong verbal communication along with active-listeningThrough my experiences in diverse industries, I have honed my problem-solving, goal-setting, and communication skills, which I believe will be valuable assets in a clinical psychology career.
