• Humanitarian clinical social work within a resettlement camp for Afghan refugees. • Delivered trauma informed therapeutic interventions and brief individual therapies integrating aspects of Problem-Solving Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral like Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, psychoeducation, and motivational interviewing among others.• Provided training for service/support staff in Psychological First Aid and cultural orientation.• Collaborated with physicians, providers, military personnel, and Chief Medical Officer regarding client mental health assessments, diagnosis, and care needs.• Advocated for client mental health care needs and behavioral health services.• Provided case management to coordinate care, referrals, and needs of Afghan populations.• Assessed and reassessed client stress, anxiety, depression, grief, loss, and comorbidities to monitor mental health well-being utilizing interview and research-based assessment tools, including but not limited to: PHQ-9, GAD-7, Symptoms of Trauma, and Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale. • Conducted comprehensive psychosocial assessment, client evaluation, case management, and mental health diagnosis.• Engaged in therapeutic interventions with children, adolescents, and adults through scheduled, walk-in, and therapist initiated proactive encounters.• Served as on-site protection advisor to assist with specialized interventions for gender-basedviolence, human trafficking, child abuse and neglect, and suicide prevention• Provided suicidal crisis evaluation and intervention with referral to a higher level of care if indicated.
